The village of Spijk is participating in a contest for the most wonderful village in the province of Groningen. In cooperation with the community of Delfzijl, Spijk offers you a wonderful experience at this UNESCO World heritage site: the Waddensea and the Groningen landscape. If you want a chance to win one of these prizes, you only have to vote for Spijk.

Spijk is one of the most beautiful ‘wierde’ villages where our ancestors raised the ground against the sea to build their homes. Spijk is part of the community of Delfzijl and has 1250 residents. The village has a historical centre, where the people live in close community with each other.

First prize for four persons

A two night stay in the 14th century luxury farmhouse Oldenbosch in Nansum, with accommodation in two authentic double rooms. The itinerary is :

  • Friday night arrival
  • Welcome drink
  • Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday is included
  • Lunch at the Eemshotel Delfzijl
  • Dinner in the local fish restaurant Landman
  • On Saturday you go sailing on a cutter trawler
  • On Sunday you have a guided walk behind the dike
